There are many roles that are available, including technical and site preparation, retailing, ticket and raffle sales. Technicians get involved in the pre-event set-up at many of the venues, including staging, seating, set and other items as well as post-event de-rigging. This is one of the most demanding roles and you must be fit and well organised, as well as being aware of safety issues. Stewards assist at all events and ensure the event runs smoothly by assisting visitors. Retailing volunteers are expected to assist in the setting up of various stalls and marquees along with the selling and management of raffle and event tickets. As a small festival, volunteers will get the chance to try their hand at most of the roles on offer.
A good mature attitude to customer relations and good interpersonal skills are desirable for all volunteers.
SO, I WANT TO VOLUNTEER. WHAT DO I DO NOW?
Please email us at volunteer@auchinleckfestival.co.uk with details about yourself. We will contact you in due course and arrange a meeting for all volunteers for further discussion.
Volunteers are very much the life blood of the festival without whom there would be no show. These unsung heroes work tirelessly behind the scenes with but one aim in mind - to make the Alive and Kicking Festival a success. It is an exciting way to get involved and gives you the opportunity to make new friends, learn new skills and give something back to the community.
