Outdoor Bowling Club
Auchinleck Outdoor Bowling Club was opened on 17th May 1902.
The ceremony must have
been spectacular. In your mind’s eye you can picture it. The Brass Band playing in
the bright sunshine, and a list of dignitaries as long as your arm. The contractors
were names still familiar in the village, George Reid of Catrine and John Dalziel
from Auchinleck.This was the start of a new way of life in Auchinleck, and many champion
bowlers have served their apprenticeship on the turf here.
A junior structure was incorporated into the structure in 1976.
